Is there a point for filler episodes? I was looking at the Wiki and that’s what it mentioned them as… but that just makes them sound unnecessary… *shrugs*

i was told that fillers are used durring the times where people usually arent watching lots of tv. like the holidays. so its still on but no biggy if you miss it. could be wrong but makes a bit o sense to me
when i found out about the arrancar (?) being numbered. it made me think of Hisagi. He does have 69 on his face. Whats up with that????

fillers are used to give the manga time to catch up to the anime. they combine multiple chapters or whatever of the manga into one episode. so they go through it fast. they write fillers until there is enough chapters or whatever for them to make new episodes that follow the manga storylines.

Hisagi is paying tribute to his former captain, who used to have a 69 tatoo on his stomach.
during the flashback 100+ years episodes, it showed Hisagi being saved from a hollow (created by aizen) when he was a young boy by Muguruma Kensei (the captain-turned-vizard) Kensei carried the 69 symbol on his chest, Hisagi remembered it, and done the same when he himself became a shinigami

fillers are used when tite kubo hasn’t published enough material for them to go on with yet, they’re to give him time to catch up. that’s what the entire bounto saga was, giving him time to publish new material.
didn’t hisagi tattoo 69 on his face after some guy with ANOTHER 69 tattoo’d somewhere on his body save his life? *not sure if that’s true*

But fillers are not only for holidays(when people watch little TV) but also when the anime is SO close to the manga, that the anime has to stop and watch for the mange to get ahead. It is the manga that desides the story and they are “controlling” the plot, the anime is just “adding movement” to the manga ^^
