wtf, the bounto spoke german, the shinigami are all traditionalist japanese ,the hallow world and most of their terms are spanish, there are a few black people and one of them lived in mexico and another one is blind. isnt just a lil weird with all this racial and language overtones?

@the fight: Language-wise, there does seem to be that, but I think a lot of the races are ambiguous on purpose. And I think the languages are to reflect cultural differences. The Quincy being the only exception. (Both Quincy and Shinigami have Japanese-named abilities, right?)
The only people I think are black are Yorouichi (sp?) and Kaname (although both are shinigami). Did you mean Chad? Cause I don’t think he’s black (I think somewhere I heard Mexican/Japanese). And I think his powers are Spanish to reflect that they are similar to a Hollow’s (or because they came from his grandfather’s (?) coin (?) and he was Mexican?).
Cool episode. I wonder if Ichigo will be able to defeat this guy without his bankai. I hope so, cuz if he can’t that means he’s gonna have a really hard time defeating one of the Espada, let alone all of them.
